good morning community,
is it possible to browse BIP files viewing the preview of the scene ?
I’ve got some folders witha dozen of BIP files named someting like 0164321564.BIP and I must open every file to view whats inside.
I’ll chime in and say I’ve not had previews on my bip files on my machine for years. It would be really nice to quickly get an idea of what they look like without fully launching the scene. Thumbnails are good, but what would be amazing is if there was a way to show the scene in windows file explorer preview pane even if it was in openGL like the performance mode. I’ve seen this work with STL files, but maybe I’m overestimating what could be possible. One could dream!
Look at this That recipe at my post works. You do need to run the command box as Administrator and I went to that users/oscar/appdata/local/KeyShot 12/ directory.
It’s a big question for me why this is never fixed since I can’t remember to see thumbnails for .bip files. @milko.schiop thanks! And sorry, not sure how to do the same on a Mac.
Okay. I was wrong… looks like I am getting thumbnail previews for BIPs currently. I know at times in the past this wasn’t true, but looks as if it is right now.
I had thumbnails for my BIPs since Keyshot 10. I lost them for a little while because at some point I uninstalled Keyshot 10, when I went to 11, but I was forced to uninstall everything and do a clean install to get them back.
I haven’t uninstalled Keyshot 11 because of that, cause I don’t really want to uninstall all my KS from 11-2024 to get my thumbnail previews back. It was such a PITA to fix, I just don’t bother to uninstall on my work computer cause space isn’t an issue yet.
